This original acrylic on canvas started as a fluro undercoat, to capture the brightness of this years canola. I haven’t painted a landscape since I was 19 years old, but it was my main focus for many years at school. It was impossible not to pull over when driving recently and take pictures of the incredible luminous yellow crop. Sometimes things have meaning, and sometimes things are just representational of a moment in time.
