whats a workshop at the Sunflower like?
It's all about the vibes! I guide you step by step, but you’ve got the freedom to go rogue and make it your own. We paint, sip, laugh, and often sing along to a killer playlist while exploring your own style. No rules, just a sunny space, your favourite tunes, and a a creative activity that's good for the soul.
can I bring alcohol?
Yes, you are more than welcome to bring a bevvy, alcoholic or otherwise. I have plenty of glassware and ice for you to use, and the closest bottle shop is at the Gero behind KFC. Although its a workshop and 'sip', often people bring their fave kombutcha or sip on the provided soft drinks.
are your workshops beginner friendly?
Absolutely! I once had someone say they hadn't painted in 51 years, and she had a fab painting at the end. Due to the step by step nature, I can guide both total novices and practicing artists to learn new techniques and complete their painting.
what happens if i cant come to my event?
Tickets to public sessions are non-refundable if its less then 7 days to the event, but you are welcome to give your ticket to someone else or send it to a friend. If you have a private event, click on that page to see the specific ts&cs
what ages are your workshops suited to?
School holiday classes/one offs will give an age recommendation. My after school art is recommended for 6-9yos and then 10yo+ as hanging out with friends their own age is as important as artistic ability. For paint and sips/little print and mini canvas, kiddos are welcome to come as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Otherwise, minimum age is 14ish.
what are your opening hours?
I don't have regular opening hours, as I am a one man band and work a lot of weekends. If the sign is out, come on in, or email me/message me on facebook to ensure we don't miss each other. Please note, Wednesdays I am not in the studio.
where are you, and where do I park?
I'm at 237 Marine Terrace, right next to the cinema in Geraldton. The street outside is only an hour, so I would recommend parking down in front of Stow Gardens and the Sail Inn.
I'm a creative person, can I run a workshop?
I absolutely encourage artists and creatives to run their own workshops, the more art experiences in town the better. Get in touch to see if your idea is a good fit for the space, and we can talk. It's $75 for two hours, and $150 for 4.
