I’m an artist, teacher, and the person running the Sunflower Studio. I’ve always been someone who tries a bit of everything—art, hospitality, teaching, small business—and along the way I realised what I really love is creating spaces where people feel comfortable to show up and make things.

Sunflower Studio started when a side hustle running paint and sip events in local venues needed its own space. The first (and only) place I looked at was the 1950s deli that had been sitting empty for years.  It instantly felt like home.  Since then, it’s grown into a gallery, workshop space, and creative spot for the community. It really is somewhere people of all ages and skill levels can come in and feel welcome.

Before this, I studied illustration at uni, worked in hospitality for over a decade, and spent time teaching everything from painting to social media and business as a TAFE lecturer. I’ve picked up a lot of different skills along the way, but they all come back to the same thing—connecting with people.

The studio is one of my true loves, and I feel really lucky to be building it here by the coast with such an amazing community of creative humans.
